Presented by the Chester Group and held at the luxurious New York Palace Hotel, the show attracted visitors and audio companies from around the world.
Show promoters
This was a surprisingly good show for sound. The pre-war hotel had great acoustics and a glamorous
interior. The only downside was the din of the construction equipment from outside.
The best sounding rooms included the VPI suite with Joseph Audio loudspeakers, the GTT suite featuring YG Carmels and the Sound by Singer Suite featuring Raidho D2 loudspeakers The “D” is for diamond tweeters.
Achieving best sound at a show is no easy task. The systems are set up the day before and the rooms offer unknown sonics.
When a room produces excellent sound it’s a combination of the equipment and the personnel. When a company or product wins continuous awards there is a reason…
