The New York Audio Show was small and intimate. This can be a good thing for it gives the exhibitors lots of time to interact with the attendees. This can also be a bad thing since the rooms are crowded and sweet spot listening positions are hard to come by.
Small shows are also very exciting- the halls are packed and folks are in a giddy frenzy to see and hear the audio systems. New York is especially fun since there are so many reviewers that live close by and attend. You can chat up your favorite guru, talk shop and discuss the rooms.
The three top rooms include the Alta Audio, Krell room, the Triangle Art, EgglestonWorks room and the Audio Note room. Each of these rooms had scale and impact. The first two due to the large speakers and the Audio Note room due to the speakers using the room as a semi horn. Listen very carefully to the videos and you will hear what I heard.
This show is now competing with the Capital Audiofest being one week apart. So we have two east coast shows for our listening and auditioning pleasure! Nothing wrong with that!
